My angelic friend, Liza Lorraine, provided me the inspiration with a photo she did entitled "Eve".
She explains the photographic metaphor as being a meeting of two major moments in the Holy Bible, the Creation and the Fall of Man, with the light bulb substituting for the apple to imply "let there be light" was a fulcrum of creation that is bitten into, or perhaps even consumed. The spark was struck and you can read the result. Thank you, again, and always, Liza.
eve
swallowing the light.
vouchsafing the coming night.
fire to devour.
I take it in to feed my power.
lambent to the scene.
regrets are for the lesser queen.
I take it all to seal;
my guarantee of what is real.
warm, and so I drain
the fire, desire and the pain
that is drawn to me.
that is spawn to be.
swallowing the fire
a curious thing, desire.
I take in your release
to find the bind that shall not cease.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
