Something stark and new, quicksilver blood in veins patina'd with age and experiences.
the copper golem rises
I thought I heard you there
moving in the meadows I'd abandoned
to place feet upon a cool stone road
promised but not sealed, paths revealed
but not the end they come to prophesied.
I cannot read your smug face, twisted
as it is with recollections and runes
cut by fingers of gypsies and goddesses
and the occasional cat I'd made of clay.
What is in your heart, hot and molten,
as you keep your own counsel and laugh
a sound that chills my blood and I fight
I fight against your insinuations?
We shall see if flesh bests metal this time.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
