Strawberry Kiss

2 observations

I ran across this photo in LiZa Lorraine's portfolio (it is her lips, with her sister taking the shot) and had to write to it, so here's a second helping from the Fields of Arbol of Ms. Lorraine's inspiration, in addition to the earlier one entitled Insomnia (if you are too lazy to go to the link and see the shot for that poem, you'll just have to wait until we get final clearance from the model for that one). Meanwhile, enjoy your desert, our speciality is

Strawberry Kiss

red as morning, bright and so sweet it calls
for lips to taste and not to waste a bit.
biting in metaphor, sweet, in ethralls
any who would dare kiss with passion and wit
and find both gone, lost in the grace of touch
as the soft fruit gives up secrets to mouth
and scent and thought, you are now caught by such
perfect harvest of the sunshine and south
winds that carried merry favour to please
and seize and tease lips blessed to find heaven
unleashed to bind a kind of dream to seize
a sustenance of more than flesh and then
the red, red taste passes into mem'ry
and so you beg for just one more berry.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
