A thousand thanks to LiZa Lorraine for the assistance of inspiration. You do know how to frame a thought.
gather you
I would gather you, as a rare orchid,
in jungles of my life. reds and pinks
and a curious lavender to tempt me
to touch and taste and take for my own
that which nature has raised up beautiful,
indifferent to my desires.
I would gather you, as a rare orchid,
bright and perfect. proof of God
even if I must contend with defenses
made to hold me away and teach humility
in the lessons you have learned in pain
and sadness, cast as madness.
I would gather you, and lay with you,
your petals filling my senses, making my defenses
an anecdote of ages past, as I am drawn
so deep inside your very presence
by your beauty and mystery
that I am lost, forevermore.

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
