A little something.
unbitter
it can find you
blind you
bind you to a purpose unexpected
it can take you
make you
break you to the will of the connected
it was there from the beginning
and shall last beyond the end
of the father and the lover
and the brother and the friend
it can melt you
smelt you
belt you in for a ride to past the horizon
it can free you
be you
see you in a light you'd never imagined
it is waiting deep inside you
for the moment it can spark
like a flint against the metal
throwing flashes in the dark

Explaining the Tags
You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.
These largely fall into 4 categories:
Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
Genre, e.g. "erotica"
We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.

2 observations:
Beautiful style to this poem. It has a natural ebb and flow and could easily be set to music. Great job.
You are too kind.
Actually, I wrote it while listening to the main musical theme behind a large set piece I am constructing, entitled "The Unbitter Suite", and I suspect it will show it's face in there.
Again, my thanks.
