beyond the feral symmetry

flesh and blood. I want it all, all of it, every pore
and sore, aching muscle throughout your hot, taut form,
glistening with sweat and regret we'll deal with no more,
for our greater regrets were in the hunger denied, warm
essence to the presence that existed when barriers fell
and we were one flesh, one mind, one inarticulate being,
speaking in whispers and growls and screams that swell
to echo off the walls that serve silent witness, freeing
us to like in the instant, where we are merged and purged
by the acts of the surrendered lovers, the feeling of you,
wrapped around me as I see how deep you are, encouraged
by your guttural sounds and gripping fingertips, that drew
me into you, to fill an ancient need beyond the poetry,
beyond the memory, beyond the feral symmetry.

    Explaining the Tags

You will note, gentle reader, that all works under this blog now display "tags" to help classify and assign the works for your review and enjoyment.

These largely fall into 4 categories:

    Year of writing, e.g. "1999"
Book published in, e.g. "from an unexpected quarter"
    Inspiring muse, e.g. "Aubergine"
    Genre, e.g. "erotica"

We are still in the process of cleaning up the tags, so please bear with us. Yes, some muses are classified under more than one tag, some poems appear in more than one book, or not yet in any volume, and some years are...hazy.
